To push the boundaries a little further we would like to see a social network that also accomplishes collaboration with others too. Networks that would allow poeple to accomplish tasks together and take away many of the menial tasks that we find we need to do on a daily basis. Yes, this is definitely beyond the realm of current social networks but the core of these things amusingly seem to happen in games like Zynga‘s FarmVille, just that the actions and collaborations only have importance within the game itself. Wouldn’t it be great if these tasks actually did something that added value to yours or someone elses life. I suppose it can be argued that they do already for those who play FarmVille but this is really only entertainment, adding only to the game itself.

What would be your ideal Social Network?

Absolutely everyone is welcome to join and take part to make this social network all that you would want it to be without any company or organisation behind it.

The aim is to gather together those interested in changing the world finally, to make it a better place, by allowing everyone in it to have an equal stake in it and removing any centralised power and sharing the work and responsibilities.

The first step is an experiment – this site has been created to see if a group of people can equally share responsibility in defining how their social network program should work. Also to see if it is possible for a shared entity like this can exist with equal ownership of all of its members. For now Shawn Du’Mmett owns and maintains this site but when an agreed number of participating people are registered and active then everything will be handed over… He is not sure how this can be done successfully but sure that with enough people some method will be worked out…

My hope is that this will be the first step for people to see that we as a people realise that we are all essentially striving for the same things and can collaborate together to remove the problems that face us globally and individually.

Please spread the word – You may know  others who may be interested in taking part in this experiment. The more we gather here the more we can develop and improve it and make it something special.

Of course it may not grow very fast, or in the beginning be disorganised, it might break or not be very pretty, or even worse for some unforeseen reason disappear completely – but I personally honestly believe with all my heart that it could be the beginning of the biggest collaborative event in history. Not built by an international organisation, secret or otherwise, or by a government agency or corporation – but by the individuals themselves,for themselves, for each other, for their children, to our highest principles and ultimately helping each other.
